Pragmatic Way to Get Fit: Cycling
Saturday, June 13th, 2009Are you lacking exercise? It’s a normal thought – we recognize this, and still many things get in the way of doing exercise. We see individuals packed into gymnasiums doing exercise, and consider : I have to travel to the gym, pay my member’s fee, then workout. It just seems like loads of trouble, isn’t there something I can do that’s not going to throw away too much of my time – something that’s even useful?
You might consider purchasing a push bike, as bicycling is a superb means to improve one’s well-being . You can ride to work or to the shops, so it’s rather pragmatic. It’s also cost-effective – there’s no fuel involved and the maintenance are next to nothing. It’s also eco-friendly. And not forgetting the minor point of actually getting you in shape.
Yet lots of people are reluctant to get a bicycle because it’s TOO much exercise. As bizarre as that sounds, it could be because they might be aged, live in a hilly area or have a particular ailment that make pedaling too much effort for their capabilities. And for a few individuals, it’s not practical pedaling to work since they will sweat too much through the exertions of bicycling.
So this is where e-bikes, or electric bikes come in. E-bikes give you a breather on the difficult hills simply by twisting your hand on the handlebar and letting the electric motor take over – you don’t need to do any peddling then. Then when you feel up to it, just let your legs take over. You get reasonable exercise and clean air without over-doing it. Electric bikes are also money-saving to operate needing only a daily re-charge if you cycle about 15 to 22 miles per day, although most individuals need just a couple of recharges per week since they’re not doing this kind of distance. If you need to carry your bike around, consider a folding frame electric bike.
These days the real cost of purchasing an electric bike have dropped in price, so you can save yourself a considerable amount of dosh on gym memberships, fuel, bus fares etc. by buying and on a regular basis using an e-bike.
